We’re four sisters, first-generation Canadians, daughters of Italian immigrants who settled in Montreal. Our mother, a talented sewer, worked in a swimwear factory for 40 years. To save money, she would rescue scraps of Spandex and Lycra from the factory bins and transform them into hair ties strong enough to hold our thick Italian hair without damage.Over time, we realized these handmade ties were something special. They didn’t snag, slip, or break hair, and they outperformed anything in stores. Family and friends loved them too, and soon, we knew we had to share them with the world.That’s how GRIPGLAM was born. Using our mother’s original idea, we created the GRIP hair tie: patented, sustainable, handmade, and designed to protect all hair types while holding firmly all day.We’re proud to carry on our mother’s legacy, changing the way hair is tied, one GRIP at a time.
